GST Motorsports did it again, securing first place overall with a time of 1:03:267 at the New Jersey Motorsports Park. Despite being away from home, the team made all the car’s consumable last and were even competitive enough to get within .8 of a second from the previous record lap that they set last year.

It’s only been a month since we featured Bill’s BRZ(click here to see the previous feature) on our site. We remember a lot of people saying that the car needs to be lower. Well, Bill is back and his car is now running some KW V3 coilovers. Don’t you think you’re getting more than you asked for? :p

The first round of Global Time Attack was recently held at Buttonwillow Raceway, Buttonwillow, CA. GST Motorsports grabbed the victory with a lap time of 1:46:631. The ever evolving Impreza L was driven by Jeff Westphal.

“I came into this weekend prepared to do basic troubleshooting of a constantly evolving package. With some teething problems on the first day, we were able to put the car in a position to record one quick lap for the books on Sunday. That said, I feel there is great potential in the new package with the changes made over the winter, and I cannot wait to start refining the balance with all of our adjustments we have on the car! “I can’t thank everyone involved in the program enough; the sponsors are the blood flow lifeline of this car and all the records it has and will continue to break”” said Jeff Westphal.
“I probably came into this event with the lowest expectations for any event we have ran given the sheer volume of drastic changes made to the car over the off season that as yet had been untested. The fact the team and Jeff were able to make the car capable of a hot lap with some of the issues we encountered speaks to the never say die attitude of every one of the people involved in this program, we gained valuable data which will help us tremendously with the continued development of the overall package for this season” said Mike Warfield, owner and tuner of GST Motorsports.
We would like to congratulate GST Motorsports for this victory and we wish them the best of luck in the next events. Catch them at the next round of Global Time Attack at Road Atlanta on the 11th to 12th of May.

Looks like someone got bit by the track bug lately
Zoeb is known to be an aggressive driver behind pretty much any car, but that is all taken up a notch when it comes being on a race track. He is the definition of a weekend track warrior. He goes out there to have fun while learning new ways to improve his driving style for on and off track.
After the track day, Zoeb noted how happy he was the wheel & tire choice he selected as they provided the correct amount of steering input to have fun and go FAST around the track. The wheels proved to be great with no signs of wear and tear and the tires held up just as well. We look forward to seeing Zoeb attend more track days in the coming future!
